Westport & Smith Cove Waterfront Parks Public Meeting (in-person)

Westport & Smith Cove Waterfront Parks
Public Meeting (in-person)

We’re excited to share the latest updates on the Westport and Smith Cove Waterfront Parks project, and we want you to be part of it! Join us on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 4:30PM – 6:30 PM EDT at Westport Academy (2401 Nevada Street Baltimore, MD, 21230).

There’s a chance to win a $25 gift card for registering (must attend the meeting to claim)! We will also have Door Prizes, which are also opportunities to win a gift card.

Our project team will share current park designs, which have been shaped by your valuable feedback. We’ll walk you through how community insights have influenced the plans, share information about park implementation, and discuss the next steps in the project. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on the preliminary designs.

This is your chance to learn more about the project, share your vision for the future of these waterfront parks, and engage in meaningful discussions. Your voice matters, and your input is crucial to ensuring these parks meet the needs and desires of the community.

Community members and project team members are gathered around a table in a library with a mural of animals. they are doing an interactive card sorting activity to get input on what people want to have in the new park.

Please spread the word—invite your neighbors and friends to join us in this important conversation. All community members are welcome to attend, even if you are not a Westport Academy family. We encourage everyone’s active participation!

The Westport and Smith Cove Waterfront Parks project includes approximately 30 contiguous acres of parkland and shoreline along the west edge of the Middle Branch, of the Patapsco River, from Waterview Avenue to I-95.

Although this is a free event, we ask that you register every participant in your household attending the input session so that we may have an accurate number of attendees.

If you have questions about the meeting or this project, please get in touch with Olivia Blackwell via email, oliviab@assedollc.com.

View of the card activity with different suggestions spread over a map of the park area.
